The function of the spaces from the Roman and Hellenistic levels in Porsuk can be inferred by the articulation artifacts and spaces in which they are discovered. Comparison with other sites of Anatolia or the Syro-Palestinian coast allows defining the activities, including a typology of furnaces, and assuming hypothesis in the case of isolated facilities. The study of materials, including ceramics, in relation with other publications and with the old excavations, provides some answers as to the exact nature of the activities. The site also allows to observe the evolution of the architectural organization and traffic between the Hellenistic and Roman levels.
