The aim of this research are to find out whether or not: (1) difference effect of Cooperative learning model type of Two Stay Two Stray (TS-TS) and Think Pair Share (TPS) on the Physics cognitive competency of students in Expansion subject matter, (2) difference effect of learning activity between the students in high and those in low categories on the Physics cognitive competency of students in Expansion subject matter, (3) interaction between the use of Cooperative Learning model and student learning activity on the Physics cognitive competency of students in Expansion subject matter. This research used experiment method with 2 x 2 factorial design. This research was taken place in MTs Satu Atap Pondok Pesantren Al Falah Baki Sukoharjo. This population of research was all of the seventh graders of MTs SA PP Al Falah in the school year of 2015/2016 consist of 4 classes. The sample used cluster random sampling. The sample used of this research were consist of 2 classes: VII A and VII D, each of which consist of 42 students. Techniques of collecting data use documentation, questionnaire, and test. Based on the result of research, it could be concluded that: (1) there was a different effect of Cooperative learning Kinds Two Stay Two Stray (TS-TS) and Think Pair Share (TPS) on the Physics cognitive competency of students in Expansion subject matter. (FA = 5,3267 > F0.05; 1.80 = 3,96). The Cooperative Learning Kinds Two Stay Two Stray (TS-TS) exerted better effect on the Physics cognitive competency of students in Expansion subject matter than that with Think Pair Share (TPS) through discusion method ,(2) there was a different effect of learning activity between the students in high and those in low categories on the Physics cognitive competency of students in Expansion subject matter. (FB = 517,8292 > F0.05; 1.80 = 3,96). The students with high category of learning activity had Physics cognitive competency better than with low category, (3) there was no interaction between the use of Cooperative Learning model and student learning activity on the Physics cognitive competency of students in Expansion subject matter. (FAB = 0,3543 < F0.05; 1.80 = 3,96). So the use of Cooperative Learning model and Student Learning Activity have partial effect on the Physics cognitive competency of students in Expansion subject matter.
