"Disaster is not gender neutral. It affects different sections in the society differently. The adverse impact is more on the vulnerable people. EKTA a women’s rights organization in Tamilnadu organized a Study Circle on 01.02.05 in Madurai. The purpose was to reflect and analyze the post tsunami scenario from a gender perspective. Participants were from the affected Southern districts of Tamilnadu and most of them were actively engaged in the rescue and relief operations.
