In 1953, the Museum was inaugurated with a major exhibition on “Science and Technology of Leonardo da Vinci,” which soon evolved into a permanent gallery. Guido Ucelli, the Museum founder, entitled the museum to Leonardo da Vinci (Vinci 1452 - Amboise 1519), who is still today a global cultural icon, as well a symbol of curiosity and of interdisciplinary knowledge.
