Centralized generation-expansion planning is one of the well-known problems in the literature, and usually a static power transmission network is considered for this problem. As power systems are moving toward renewable sources of energy, static transmission networks no longer provide efficient transmission solutions. Dynamic-line rating and transmission switching are two alternatives to static transmission network, especially in power systems integrated with renewable energy sources.
