Quantified self is the concept of tracking, recording and analyzing various pieces of data about ourselves to discover previously unknown patterns. Quantified self can involve manually or automatically recording and tracking data, like the time spent asleep, heart rate, mood or the amount of coffee consumed, using technological tools. This thesis aims to describe the new form of self-tracking, called quantified self. This is performed by looking into the following topics: how the concept has emerged, how it is performed, the present technological tools used, how captured data can be interpreted and how to act on the data.
