Construction firms in Nigeria are known at making frantic efforts to compete favourably for contracts, make profits and also strive to remain in business. For this to manifest however, productivity among others must be sustained. This paper therefore addresses the clogs that can affect craftsmen’s productivity in southwestern Nigeria. With a focus on the two states (Lagos and Oyo) in the study area, one hundred questionnaires each, backed with on-site observation, were administered to the management and craftsmen on construction sites in the three stratifications (large, medium and small firms).
