Alzheimer Hastalığı (AH), belirgin hafıza kayıplı kortikal demansa sebep olan çeşitli moleküler patolojilerle tanımlanan progresif bir hastalıktır. Hastalığın tanısından onlarca yıl önce oluşmaya başlayan patolojinin dağılımı, klinik semptomlarla oldukça ilişkilidir. Hayvan modelleri kullanılarak, hastalığın farklı dönemlerinde beyin dokusundaki proteom değişimini gözlemlemeye yönelik birçok proteomiks çalışması yapılmıştır. Ancak yeni-doğan transgenik fare modelinde proteom değişimi incelenmemiştir.
