“The aim of this study was to identify the characteristics in the use of Spanglish (Stavans, 2002) through Social Networks among Hispanos in the United States and also determine reasons for this use. Firstly, a variety of texts written in Spanglish were analyzed using categories that emerged from the data. In a second stage, interviews were used to interview people who wrote the previous texts in order to explore their opinions about the use of Spanglish. At the end of the process the information was evaluated. The results indicated that under certain circumstances people tend to write in Spanglish.
