Background In 2020, the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) became law in Sweden. This puts extra demands on Swedish health care for children in need. This study aimed to investigate children's experiences and paediatric nurses' experiences of caring in accordance with the UNCRC. Methods Interviews were conducted in 2019 with 10 children and 13 nurses at a paediatric clinic in western Sweden. Child and nurse data were analysed separately with qualitative content analysis.
