The present investigation was undertaken^ on the suggestion of Dr. Taylor}to find whether any differences could be found in the physical properties of solutions of the optically active and racemic forms of a substance in presence of an independent optically active substance,in a case where chemical combination was known to take place.The acids employed in the investigation are dextro and laevo Tartaric acids and Racemic Acid.The result of this investigation maybe briefly summed up to the effect that I have not found any differences in the physical properties of aqueous solutions of the optically active and racemic forms of Tartaric acid in presence of the optically active bases employed
