Gastric Ulcer is an affection of the stomach beginning in the mucous membrane,and sometimes extending through all the coats of that organ by a process of the nature of a necrosis.Oases of gastric ulcer have been recorded from the 16th.century,and even earlier,but it was not until Matthew Baillie in 1793,and later Cruveilhier in 1829,gave an accurate anatomical and clinical description that the disease was established as a definite entity
