The object of this thesis is to demonstrate that in completely modifying the proposals for erection of the strengthening girders of these several bridges as put forward by the consulting engineers in London, who prepared the designs and scheme for erection, the maximum efficiency of the completed structure to fulfil the purpose intended under working conditions in India was thereby attained.The Division of the B.B. & C.I.
