PENGELOLAAN TEMPAT PEMBUANGAN AKHIR SAMPAH (TPAS) SEBAGAI UPAYA PENGENDALIAN PENCEMARAN AIR di KOTA BALIKPAPAN

Waste could be from every activity and needs to be managed to prevent pollution, especially water pollution. One of the important part in managing pollution is waste landfill. There are two legal issues on this study, which are how to manage waste landfill as a way to control water pollution in Balikpapan? The second, what could be the obstacles in controlling those waste landfill? This law study is an empirical study focusing on social fact with interview and literature study. The conclusion of this study is that the waste landfill in Manggar is running well but not optimally because of limited human resources, economy, and lack of public awareness. The writer’s suggestions are there needs to be more surveillance, increase more potential human resources, and do promotion to increase public awareness
