Tutkielma tarkastelee asunnottomuuden diskurssin rakentumista brittiläisessä uutismediassa. Tutkimuksen kohde on Englanti, jossa katuasunnottomien määräksi on arvioitu 4 677 (2019). Asunnottomien määrä Iso-Britanniassa on kasvanut merkittävästi 2010-luvulla ja tilanteen on arvioitu pahenevan. Paradoksi vauraasta yhteiskunnasta, jossa tuhannet ihmiset silti kokevat asunnottomuutta on mielenkiintoinen lähtökohta tutkimukselle. Tämä tutkielma tutkii brittiläisen uutismedian roolia asunnottomuuteen liittyvien valtasuhteiden, epätasa-arvon ja 'us vs. them' -vastakkainasettelun lisäämisessä.
