LITERATUR REVIEW : PENGARUH ISOMETRIC QUADRICEPS EXERCISE TERHADAP PENURUNAN NYERI PADA KNEE OSTEOARTHRITIS LANSIA

Background : The high growth rate of the elderly goes hand in hand with the incidence of various diseases, especially knee osteoarthritis. There are several therapeutic methods used to improve and reduce pain. Isomteruc quadriceps exercise is one type of therapy that can help improve and reduce pain in knee osteoarthritis.Objective : To determine the effect of isometric quadriceps exercise on the reduction of pain in the elderly knee osteoarthritis.Research Methods : This study uses a literature review technique in which researchers use several articles or journals on a topic to be discussed. Articles or journals can be obtained from several search engines such as Google Scholar, Proques, Pubmed and NCBI. The journal criteria used in this study were articles published in 2015 - 2020 with a percentage of 29% for international articles and 71% for national journals.Results : After analyzing international and national journals / articles, the results of this study were that the administration of isometric quadriceps exercises can help reduce knee pain in elderly osteoarthritis.Conclusion : From the articles / journals that have been analyzed, it can be concluded that giving isometric quadriceps exercise can help reduce knee pain in elderly osteoarthritis
