ANALISA KEKUATAN TARIK KOMPOSIT POLYESTER BERPENGUAT SERAT SABUT KELAPA DAN SEKAM PADI DENGAN VARIASI PERSENTASE FILLER

Composite material is an important material, because it has strong mechanical properties and is better suited for use as a substitute for conventional materials used in several fields, especially automotive. In making the composite reinforcement, in this study the reinforcement used was coconut fiber and rice husk with filler variations of 10%, 20%, 30%. The selection of coir fibers and rice husks must be dry and then cleaned to reduce the possibility of voids in the composites. The first step in making composites using an iron mold with standard size ASTM D 638-84 and the method used is the hand lay-up. The test used is the tensile test to obtain the tensile strength of the specimen. This test was carried out 9 times with 3 variations of filler volume. Tensile testing was carried out at the Mechanical Engineering Laboratory of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang. Based on the research, the highest tensile strength value is produced by the variation of the filler volume 30% with a tensile strength value of 0.0265 kN⁄mm^2
