The emergence of the chilean engaged theater. (1960-1970). A historical review of its origins

El presente artículo describe el surgimiento del Teatro Comprometido chileno durante la década de los sesenta. Esta nueva forma de hacer teatro fue influenciada por factores exógenos tales como el Neorrealismo Italiano y la Revolución Cubana. Desde un punto de vista metodológico, este trabajo analiza la influencia teórica y práctica de ambos fenómenos, desarrollando un trabajo documental de revisión de prensa y de aplicación de entrevistas semi-estructuradas, para comprobar el nexo entre ambos fenómenos y nuestro objeto de estudio.This article describes the emergence of chilean committed theater during the 1960s. This new way of doing theater was influenced by exogenous factors such as Italian neorealism and the Cuban revolution. From a methodological point of view this work analyzes the theoretical and practical influence of both phenomena, developing a documentary work, a review of the press and the application of semi-structured interviews, to verify the link between both phenomena and our object of study
