The Creation of Cultural Communication Training Programs to Facilitate Diversity Initiatives in the 21st Century Learning Organization

In the 21st century, the successful organization will need to quickly and effectively adapt to the changing environment in which it exists. Many organizations have adopted the concepts of a learning organization in order to facilitate the change process. One such issue that requires intense organizational adaptation is the ever-changing concerns of dealing effectively with an increasingly diverse population. This author addresses the creation of cross-cultural communication training for use in facilitating an organizational and workforce development diversity initiative program by 1) assessing the externally perceived organizational culture mindset of the organization, 2) assessing the perceived cultural competence of the organization by employees and stakeholders, and 3) developing the steps toward a customized cultural communication training program
