Reducing food wastage has been identified as a sustainable and necessary solution for food insecurity, poverty and hunger alleviation in this fast-growing world, especially in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). However, food wastage abatement has sectorial trade-offs (winners and losers) and variations which need to be explored empirically to determine if this solution is worthwhile.
