Coeficiente de aserrío en la transformación de madera proveniente de Pinus oocarpa Schiede, en seis aserraderos de Nueva Segovia y Estelí, Nicaragua

The present study was carried out in six sawmills located in the departments of Nueva Segovia and Estelí. The objectives of this study were to determine the sawmill coefficient of sawn lumber processed by sawmill and diameter category and to develop equations that allow estimating the volume of wood sawn, from the volume of wood processed and the smallest diameter of the log. A random sample of 15 logs of the Pinus oocarpa Schiede species was taken at each sawmill, for a total of 90 logs. The dimensions of the extreme diameters and their length were measured to each one of the logs to determine the volume in roll using the Smalian formula, later, they were processed to obtain common wood (boards, rulers and pottery) to these products their products were measured length, width and thickness dimensions to determine the volume of sawn lumber. To determine the sawing coefficient, the timber log volume was divided by the volume of sawn wood from each of the 90 logs. The average sawmill coefficient obtained in the six industries was 70.26 %. An analysis of variance determined that there were significant differences between the six sawmills, with yields ranging from 80 to 64 %. A correlation analysis determined that there was a positive association between the smaller diameter of the logs and the sawmill coefficient. In other words, as the diameter of the log increases, there is a greater sawing coefficient. The equation for estimating the sawn lumber volume sawn from the volume of the log roll is Y = -0.0524 + 0.8827X and the equation to predict the sawn lumber volume from the smaller diameter was Y = - 0.31 + 2.1197X. The sawmill coefficient for the six companies studied is 70.26%, equivalent to equivalent to 301.27 pt / m³ for portable sawmills with 3mm cutting width and cylindrical and good quality logs.En Nicaragua los estudios sobre la eficiencia de los aserríos son pocos, a pesar de ser la principal industria de transformación del país. El presente estudio se realizó en seis aserraderos localizados en los departamentos de Nueva Segovia y Estelí y tuvo por objetivos determinar el coeficiente de aserrío de la madera en rollo por procesada por aserrío y categoría diamétrica y elaborar ecuaciones que permitieron estimar el volumen de madera serrada a partir del volumen de madera en rollo y el diámetro menor de la troza. En cada aserradero se tomó una muestra aleatoria de 15 trozas de la especie de Pinus oocarpa Schiede, para un total de 90 trozas. A cada una de las trozas se le midieron las dimensiones de los diámetros extremos y su longitud para dterminar el volumen en rollo utilizando la fórmula de Smalian, posteriormente se procesaron para obtener madera común (tablas, reglas y alfajillas) a estos productos se midieron sus dimensiones largo, ancho y grosor a fin de determinar el volumen de madera aserrada. Para determinar el coeficiente de aserrío se dividió el volumen de madera en rollo entre el volumen de madera aserrada de cada una de las 90 trozas. El coeficiente de aserrío promedio obtenido en las seis industrias fue de 70.26 %. Un análisis de varianza determinó que existen diferencias significativas entre los seis aserraderos, registrándose rendimientos entre 80 a 64 %. Un análisis de correlación determinó que existe una asociación positiva entre el diámetro menor de las trozas y el coeficiente de aserrío. Es decir que a medida que aumenta el diámetro de la troza hay un mayor coeficiente de aserrío. La ecuación para la estimación del volumen aserrado a partir del volumen de rollo de la troza es Y = - 0.0524 + 0.8827X y la ecuación para predecir el volumen aserrado a partir del diámetro menor es Y = -0.31 + 2.1197X. El coeficiente de aserrío para las seis empresas estudiadas es 70.26%, equivalentes a equivalente a 301.27 pt/m³ para aserríos portátiles con ancho de corte de 3mm y trozas cilíndricas y de buena calidad
