This paper presents an Ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with a bandwidth spanning from 3.1 GHz to 10.6 GHz, and a stop-band notch from 5GHz to 6GHz. The antenna is capable of band rejection of interferences arising from Wireless Local Area Networks (WLAN) at 5.2GHz and Dedicated Short-Range Communications (DSRC) at 5.8GHz. The proposed antenna consists of a rectangular patch fabricated on low-cost 35 mm × 35 mm FR-4 board, of 1.6 mm thickness, and relative permittivity of 4.5. The band-notch characteristic is achieved with a notch slot at the center of the patch. By including a partial ground plane, the antenna achieves a good impedance match over the required UWB frequency range. The measured and simulated results show the antenna has good ref...
