Asian elephant’s health, well-being and population sustainability are affected by several life-threatening diseases. Tuberculosis (TB), with potential zoonotic impact, and EEHV-HD, live threatening especially for young elephants, are amongst the most serious ones. Besides, they have the potential to severely affect the economy, particularly in relation to tourism.
