The data were collected in two institutions, the Psychiatric Hospital Opava and the Psychiatric Hospital Kroměříž, Czech Republic. The 10-item version of the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) was administered to 153 inpatients, out of which 56.2% were women (n = 86). Age of the respondents ranged from 16 to 71 years (M = 41.94, SD = 12.49). Average time of hospitalization was 36 days (SD = 27.16, five outliers with hospitalization ranging from 126 to 344 days were removed from the calculation).
