This report is directed to the problem of developing an adequate but not overly complex linear flight dynamics analytical model of a rotorcraft to study stability, control, gust and random turbulence responses. Since the conventional flight dynamics analysis using quasisteady rotor derivatives is adequate for the long period modes like the phugoid mode, only short time responses are considered here, where rotor-body coupling is of importance. Thus the body motion consists of pitch, roll and vertical motion, omitting linear longitudinal and lateral and yaw perturbations.
