An article on an early set of three Chinese export harbourviews in the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam: View on Macau, the Reach of Whampoa, and the Quai of Canton. The paintings once belonged to the famous Chinese collection of J.Th. Royer, the 18th century collector of Chinese art. They are in the collection of the National Museum of Ethnology Leiden since 1883 and currently on a permanent display in the Rijksmuseum
