Asymptotic properties of random walks on relatively hyperbolic groups

Cette thèse s’intéresse aux marches aléatoires dans les groupes ayant des propriétés faibles d’hyperbolicité, notamment les groupes relativement hyperboliques. Il s’agit plus spécifiquement d’étudier le comportement asymptotique de telles marches aléatoires, dont le support fini engendre tout le groupe. La première partie consiste à déterminer le bord de Martin à homéomorphisme près, lorsque les sous-groupes paraboliques sont virtuellement abéliens : il s’agit du bord de Bowditch, où on remplace les points paraboliques par des sphères de dimension appropriée. Cette identification s’appuie en partie sur des inégalités d’Ancona relatives établies par Gekhtman, Gerasimov, Potyagailo et Yang. Ces inégalités servent aussi à caractériser en termes géométriques le cas d’égalité dans l’inégalité fondamentale de Guivarc’h pour de telles marches aléatoires sur de tels groupes. En particulier, lorsque les sous-groupes paraboliques sont virtuellement abéliens de rang au moins 2, cette inégalité est toujours stricte. Enfin, il est montré une généralisation au rayon spectral des inégalités d’Ancona relatives citées ci-dessus. Celles-ci servent alors à établir un théorème de la limite locale précis pour certains types de marches qui sont nommées marches non spectralement dégénérées.This thesis focuses on random walks on groups with weak hyperbolic properties, such as relatively hyperbolic groups. Specifically, the goal is to study asymptotic properties of such random walks, whose finite support generates the group as a semi-group. The first step is to determine the Martin boundary up to homeomorphism. When the parabolic subgroups are virtually abelian, this boundary consists of the Bowditch boundary whose parabolic limit points are blown-up into a sphere of appropriate dimension. This identification is based on the use of relative Ancona inequalities that were established by Gekhtman, Gerasimov, Potyagailo and Yang. These inequalities are also used to give a geometric caracterization of the equality case in the Guivarc’h fundamental inequality. In particular, whenever parabolic subgroups are virtually abelian of rank at least 2, this inequality is necessarily strict. Finally, showing first a generalization up to the spectral radius of relative Ancona inequalities, a precise local limit theorem is proved under the additional assumption that the random walk is not spectrally degenerate
