The collection consists of a thesis written by D.A. (Donald Anthony) Low (1927-2015) for Exeter College Degree of Doctor of Philosophy in 1957 from Oxford University. D. A. Low, was a historian of modern South Asia, Africa, the British Commonwealth, and, especially, decolonization. He was the Emeritus Smuts Professor of History of the British Commonwealth at the University of Cambridge, former Vice-Chancellor of the Australian National University, Canberra, and President of Clare Hall, Cambridge.
