Recommended Design Strategies for a Sustainable Library Retrofit

Sustainable Built Environments Senior Capstone ProjectUsing the third floor of the University of Arizona Main Library as a model, this project aimed to identify energy efficiency measures, design strategies to improve occupant comfort, and modernizing library spaces for current functionality. The project identified eight Energy Conservation Recommendations (ECR's) and fourteen Architectural Improvement Recommendations (AIR's). More strategies are identified over the course of this project; however, the following implementations were determined to be the most pertinent for future designers to consider in a library retrofit.This item is part of the Sustainable Built Environments collection.
