Une place pour les problèmes pour chercher

International audienceProblem solving as investigation activity in French primary school-The French curriculum 2002 for primary school (students 6 to 11) emphasised a category of problems as support of an investigation activity, aiming at the development of mathematical exploration ability. What kind of ability and/or what type of problems is concerned by this theme? In the facts (report of French Ministerial Education Authority 2006) selected problems and class lessons on this theme are very different, mathematical impact on students seems to be very weak. This text studies a priori the potentiality of such theme in the mathematics teaching and proposes criteria to choose adapted problems. These propositions may be considered as orientations for next research.Les programmes de 2002 mettent en avant les problèmes, notamment des problèmes dits « pour chercher» (MEN 2005). Que cache ce terme ? Le rapport IGEN 2006 rapporte que lors des séances de résolution de 'problèmes pour chercher', les problèmes choisis et les pratiques de classe sont très variés et d'impacts potentiels auprès des élèves très différents. Les séances semblent généralement mettre en jeu peu de mathématiques. Dans les programmes 2008 (MEN 2008). L'expression problèmes « pour chercher » a disparu. Ce texte pose des jalons pour une clarification des intentions d'apprentissage liées aux séances de résolution de 'problèmes pour chercher' et des critères de choix de ces problèmes.
