Analisis Tingkat Permukiman Kumuh di Kawasan Bulu Kabupaten Jepara

Settlements are part of the environment in the form of dwellings which consist of one more than one housing which has infrastructure, public utilities, and other supporting facilities. The problem that often occurs in urban settlements is the emergence of slum settlements, one of which is in the Bulu Area, Jepara Regency. Slum area cause various problems ranging from the physical and social environment of the community. This study uses a geographic information system (GIS) method in the form of an overlay by utilizing high-resolution imagery, namely images Quickbird to assist in spatial analysis. This study aims to: (1) analyze the level of slum settlements in the Bulu area, (2) analyze the socio-economic characteristics of the population in the Bulu area, and (3) analyze the spatial relationship between the level of slum settlements and the characteristics of the population in the Bulu Zone. This research uses a scoring research method to determine the level of slum, using a questionnaire to determine the characteristics of the community, and an method overlay to determine the spatial relationship between the level of slum and the characteristics of the community in the study area. Determination of respondents using the method Proportionate Stratified Sampling with the results of 96 respondents. This study shows the results that: (1) there are 27 residential blocks with 3 slum class levels, at the low slum level there are 13 settlement blocks (48%), in medium slum there are 14 settlement blocks (52%), while there are no blocks. settlements that fall into the high slum class (0%). (2) Most of the population (47.9%) have 3-5 children with the majority (73%) having family dependents of 0-3 people per family, most (40%) of the population have high school education and the majority (61 %) work as a fisherman with an income above Rp. 1,000,000 (51%). (3) The relationship between the level of slum settlements and the characteristics of the population is that in low slum settlements the number of children and family dependents is less than the population of medium slum settlements, the education of residents of low slum settlements is better than in medium slum settlements, the work of residents in low and medium slum settlements is the same. fishermen are dominated by fishermen, but in terms of income, low slum settlements are better than medium slum settlements. The results of this study can be useful as a material consideration for the regional government of Jepara Regency and related agencies in improving and handling the physical and socio-economic aspects of the slum community in the Bulu Area of Jepara Regency
