A trial with annual forage legumes was carried out during 2004 and 2005 at the Rimski Šančevi Experiment Field of the Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops in Novi Sad. The trial involved forage pea, Pisum sativum L., common vetch, Vicia sativa L., faba bean, Vicia faba L. and narbon vetch Vicia narbonensis L. and each of the species was represented with three cultivars. The forage pea cultivars had the greatest plant height (92 cm), while the common vetch cultivars had the greatest number of stems per plant (2.3). The greatest number of internodes was found in the cultivars of faba bean (20.0) and narbon vetch (19.7), while the largest plant mass was recorded in the faba bean cultivars (42.41 g).
