Cabbage is an important vegetable crop which is produced in Serbia at about 25,000 ha. Because of its nutritive value, it is extensively used both for fresh consumption and processing. Principal targets in cabbage breeding are development of new hybrids superior to the existing ones in yield performance, quality and maturity. As double-cropped cabbage frequently suffers from rainfall shortage and high mean daily air temperatures, such production is not feasible without irrigation. Newly-developed cabbage hybrids developed at Institute of Field and Vegetable Crops have shown to be suitable for double cropping. Their average yields range between 53 and 55 t/ha, while the hybrid H-7 achieves as much as 68 t/ha.Kupus je značajna povrtarska kult...
