Uterine rupture is a rare, but potentially serious obstetric complication with a high incidence of fetal and maternal morbidity. This urgent complication is a complete division of all three layers of the uterus: the endometrium, the myometrium and the perimetrium. Most uterine ruptures occur during labour, also it may occasionally happen earlier in pregnancy. The most common cause of uterine rupture is a C-section scar and previous gynecological surgeries.
