A numerical investigation of the interaction between a wind tunnel sidewall boundary layer and a thin low-aspect-ratio wing has been performed for transonic speeds and flight Reynolds numbers. A three-dimensional Navier-Stokes code was applied to calculate the flow field. The first portion of the investigation examined the capability of the code to calculate the flow around the wing, with no sidewall boundary layer present. The second part of the research examined the effect of modeling the sidewall boundary layer. The results indicated that the sidewall boundary layer had a strong influence on the flow field around the wing.
