For the last one-decade, commercial banks in Kenya have been registering increased profits, however, the increase in labor turnover and increased cost of staff replacement has led to Kenyan commercial banks aggressively competing for competent employees. The study specifically sought to determine the effect of employee recognition and job promotion on employee performance in commercial banks in Kenya arising from a literature gap. This study used a descriptive research design using primary data, which was collected by use of semi-structured questionnaires.
