The Review of New Concepts in Guide to Learning with Primary Focus on Heaven and Science

The so called \u27westernized scholar\u27 such as Yukichi Fukuzawa, initially worked on Chinese studies (Hangaku) but gradually moved to Rangaku and Western studies. The Chinese studies stipulate that material once learned should not disappear even if the individuals change their minds. When considering western studies, one notices that traditional Chinese studies supplement the understanding of the western study concept. This paper investigates Fukuzawa\u27s mentality in \u27Science Advocacy in Encouragement to Learn\u27. It had been on the best seller\u27s list for many years in Meiji Era. The two concepts of \u27Heaven\u27 and \u27Actual Science\u27 are incorporated into it. Although these two concepts have already previously established themselves in Chinese studies, Fukuzawa used it and clarified that the new concept was created by disclosing Western studies
