Analysis of the Integrated Care Route in the public security policy for women in Medellín

The analysis of the phenomenon of gender violence is old in the world, Latin America and the country, but the conceptualization and visibility of the protection strategies for women in cases of femicide is recent. In Colombia, different strategies have been implemented to protect women who are victims of violence, despite this, indicators on issues such as femicide continue to increase. In the present final work, in addition to exposing the conceptualization of gender violence and contextualizing it from different scales, one of the mechanisms that was created in Medellín to combat it is defined and evaluated: The Route of Attention to Women Victims of Gender Violence. This qualitative analysis is achieved by means of bibliographic reconstruction, interviews and surveys of women showing it from what it should be and how this Route really works; This made it possible to show that there is a disarticulation between the parts that comprise it, a deficiency in its dissemination, and that the budget reduction generates an increase in cases in the city. In the end, it is recommended that the parties work together and create an observatory to evaluate this protection mechanism, which is fundamental for the care of women in the city.El análisis del fenómeno de violencia de género es de vieja data en el mundo, Latinoamérica y el país, pero la conceptualización y visibilización de las estrategias de protección a mujeres en casos de feminicidio es reciente. En Colombia se han implementado diferentes estrategias para la protección de mujeres víctimas de violencia, pese a esto los indicadores en temas como feminicidio continúan en aumento. En el presente trabajo final, además de exponer la conceptualización de la violencia de género y contextualizarla desde diferentes escalas, se define y evalúa uno de los mecanismos que en Medellín se creó para combatirla: La Ruta de Atención a Mujeres Víctimas de Violencia de Género. Este análisis cualitativo se logra por medio de reconstrucción bibliográfica, entrevistas y encuestas a mujeres mostrándola desde el deber ser y cómo funciona realmente esta Ruta; lo que permitió evidenciar que existe una desarticulación entre las partes que la conforman, deficiencia en la divulgación de la misma y que la baja presupuestal genera un aumento de los casos en la ciudad. A final, se recomienda trabajo conjunto entre las partes y la creación de un observatorio para evaluar este mecanismo de protección que es fundamental para el cuidado de las mujeres en la ciudad.Maestrí
