Desde la actualización de la definición de sepsis, diversos estudios han tratado de validar el rendimiento del SOFA y qSOFA para predecir mortalidad. Los resultados han sido variables en cada población. Es importante seleccionar un sistema de predicción que demuestre buena discriminación y calibración en la población de interés. El propósito del estudio es establecer el sistema pronóstico con mayor rendimiento en predicción de mortalidad entre pacientes que ingresan a UCI con sospecha de infección, comparando (SIRS, qSOFA, SOFA, APACHE II, APACHE IV).
