Evaluation of fulfillment of the criteria established in the NSR-10 standard for the design of non-estructural elements

Currently, construction in Colombia is governed by the “Colombian Seismic-Resistant Construction Regulation” NRS -10. Within the Title A.9 of the NSR-10, the design criteria of non-structural elements is stablished. This research is based on establishing a methodology that allows the evaluation to be carried out through the verification and design of the non-structural elements. This methodology was made by taking into account some recomendations published by researchers and companies related to the construction of facades and dividing walls in Colombia. These recomendatios refers to aspects such as: construction, good practices, conservation and value engineering. Due to the above, based on the information retrieved from projects that are in the process of approval in the curatorships and the information of the current regulations, this investigation exposes the main mistakes made in the design of non-structural elements and its impacts on the technical and economic components of the projects. In addition, recommendations were established to take into account in the design of the elements in discusión. In order to mitigate the current problems in the construction of the projects, which may be caused by the absence of information or simply by interpretation errors.En la actualidad la construcción en Colombia se rige por el Reglamento Colombiano de Construcción Sismorresistente NRS -10, el cual tiene como última modificación, el decreto 945 de 2017. Dentro de la NSR-10 el título A establece el alcance en los elementos no estructurales, que deben someterse a consideración durante el sismo. Esta investigación se basa en establecer una metodología que permita realizar la evaluación mediante la comprobación y diseño de los elementos no estructurales, teniendo en cuenta las buenas prácticas publicadas por investigadores y empresas del sector que participan en la construcción de fachadas y muros divisorios en Colombia, haciendo referencia a aspectos como: construcción, buenas prácticas, conservación e ingeniería de valor. Por lo anterior a partir de la información recuperada de proyectos que están en proceso de aprobación en las curadurías, sumado a la información de la normatividad vigente, esta investigación estableció los principales errores que se comenten en las memorias de cálculo de diseño de elementos no estructurales, y su impacto en la parte técnica y económica de los proyectos. Además, se establecieron recomendaciones a tener en cuenta en el diseño de los elementos mencionados anteriormente, con el fin de mitigar los problemas en la construcción de los proyectos, que pueden ocasionarse por la ausencia de información o simplemente por errores de interpretación.Magíster en Construcción.
