Evaluación económica en agroecosistemas convencionales y agroecológicos de Naranja Var. Valencia (Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck) en el departamento del Meta, Colombia

The main objective of this research work was to analyze, based on economic evaluation indicators, the viability of a conventional production system and a production system with an agroecological approach of Naranja Var. Valencia Var. (Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck) in the Meta department, Colombia. These agroecosystems were previously characterized and typified by Cleves-Leguizamo and Jarma-Orozco (2014), who presented differentiating characteristics related mainly to the area of production, logistics, administrative, technical and financial infrastructure. The analysis carried out showed that the systems studied not only differ in their cultural practices but also in production costs in all its phases and therefore in its viability. The indicators showed that although agroecosystems with an agroecological approach present greater possibilities of viability compared to conventional agroecosystems, they must implement improvements or rethink activities that allow them to improve their behavior against indicators such as the Investment Recovery Period (PRI). Similarly, the study allows us to perceive the importance of the integration of different components in agricultural production systems, since the interactions that take place between them contribute to obtaining a greater quantity and variety of products, and therefore higher sales income. The results of the research are presented in five chapters in article-type format, in the first the conceptual framework referred to the concept of agroecology as a theoretical and conceptual basis is analyzed, in the second the general aspects of citriculture in Colombia, in the third to the economic evaluation in agroecosystems with an agroecological and conventional approach of Naranja Var. Valencia (Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck) as well as the methodology implemented to achieve the objectives, in the fourth the results obtained are presented and in the fifth, the conclusions that took place from the analysis.El objetivo principal del presente trabajo de investigación fue analizar con base en indicadores de evaluación económica la viabilidad de un sistema de producción convencional y un sistema de producción con enfoque agroecológico de Naranja Var. Valencia Var. (Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck) en el departamento del Meta, Colombia. Estos agroecosistemas fueron previamente caracterizados y tipificados por Cleves-Leguizamo y Jarma-Orozco (2014), los cuales presentaron características diferenciadoras referidas principalmente al área de producción, infraestructura logística, administrativa, técnica y financiera. El análisis realizado evidenció que los sistemas estudiados no sólo difieren en sus prácticas culturales sino también en los costos de producción en todas sus fases y por lo tanto en la viabilidad del mismo. Los indicadores demostraron que a pesar de que los agroecosistemas con enfoque agroecológico presentan mayores posibilidades de viabilidad en comparación con los agroecosistemas convencionales, deben implementar mejoras o el replanteamiento de actividades que permitan mejorar su comportamiento frente a indicadores como el Periodo de Recuperación de la Inversión (PRI). De igual forma, el estudio permite percibir la importancia de la integración de diferentes componentes en los sistemas de producción agrícola, pues las interacciones que se dan entre ellos contribuyen a obtener una mayor cantidad y variedad de productos, y por lo tanto mayores ingresos por ventas. Los resultados de la investigación se presentan en cinco capítulos en formato tipo artículo, en el primero se analiza el marco conceptual referido al concepto de agroecología como base teórica y conceptual, en el segundo a los aspectos generales de la citricultura en Colombia, en el tercero a la evaluación económica en agroecosistemas con enfoque agroecológico y convencional de Naranja Var. Valencia (Citrus sinensis L. Osbeck) así como la metodología implementada para el alcance de los objetivos, en el cuarto se presentan los resultados obtenidos y en el quinto, las conclusiones que tuvieron lugar a partir del análisis.Línea de Investigación: Estudios Ambientales AgrariosMaestrí
