Coups d’êtat are not punctual events in the political life of a country but situations closely linked and conditioned by the social/political dynamics of a nation, hence becoming the practical materialization of patterns of conflict already rooted within society. As proposed by Jesús De Andrés, the origins and performance of coups d’êtat may be studied through the identification of their individual circumstances, framing processes and organization.
