International audienceAs stakeholders of commons knowledge, academic journals enact rules to produce knowledge which in turns delineates its use and hence their impact. The aim of this paper is threefold: explore the vision that academic journals have about how their knowledge is used, underline the tensions journals are faced with to materialize this vision, and describe the solving answers they bring.
