Not AvailableJute fabric was dyed with several direct dyes and thereafter applied selective aftertreatment like copper sulphate/potassium dichromate, dye fixing agent, etc. Evaluation of dyed samples using a computerised colour matching system shows a appreciable improvement of colour strength in fabrics treated with a dye fixing agent, while a decreasing trend was observed in case of fabrics treated with copper sulphate/potassium dichromate. Aftertreatment with copper sulphate/potassium dichromate and with dye fixing agents results in improvement of washing fastness as measured by computer colour matching system.
