Innovative assistance forms to address and reduce the emotional distress of adolescents

The adolescence is a specific period, when the young people come across changes regarding different areas of their lives, regarding school, physical changes in their bodes and emotions. All in all this period is a period of change and self-searching. Every adolescent faces these problems and emotional distresses in their own unique way. The objective of our survey was to determine what innovative methods are to be offered to the youth so their emotional distress could be helped with or diminished es well as how they can help themselves and contribute to diminishing emotional distress in the youth. The theoretical part consists of a presentation of the adolescence period, focusing on emotional distress which is these days predominant with the youth or were written on pieces of paper by the adolescents visiting the innovative media course. The empirical part consists of the results gained by setting the innovative media into the student's hall of residence, survey questionnaires carried out among the youth and with the help of numerous interviews, carried out among the youth. The research showed that the adolescents are experiencing emotional distress these days, that they know how to face it and that they are well aware of facing techniques but that they also miss actual ways of help and people who could help or make them aware of specific emotional distress. The research helps with understanding emotional distress with the youth, what do they need and how can we help them find help so that the obstacles such as stigmatization do not stop them from finding the help they need. It contributes a lot to closeness between the social workers and the youth. The research, with the help of innovative media presentation, can help the social workers to get an insight into what the youth is facing today and with that they can emphasize the topics which are interesting to the youth and the topics that they miss and need to solve and diminish their emotional distress
