This thesis consists of three parts, the first two dealing with high, and third with low, Hartmann number flow in magnetohydrodynamics. The first problem treated is the determination of the magnetic field, velocity field and drag when a solid, insulating, elliptic cylinder is moving through a viscous conducting fluid, under the influence of an applied magnetic field. The second problem deals with the determination of the magnetic field, velocity field and flow rate when fluid is flowing, under the influence of an oscillating pressure gradient, through a circular pipe.
