peer reviewedConstrained by the number of transmitted data streams, this paper proposes sub-carrier allocation (SA) and hybrid precoding (HP) designs for sum-rate maximization in mm-wave OFDMA systems. The optimization is first formulated as a computation sparsity-constrained HP design problem, which is non-convex and challenging to solve. Two two-stage solution approaches are proposed. In the first approach, a fully digital precoder (FDP) is optimized considering the computation sparsity constraint in the first stage. In the second approach, the sparsity constraint is only imposed in the second stage.
