Finding Aid for Stout Alumnus, 1926-1929; 1950-1988

An often irregular, quarterly newsletter issued by the Stout Alumni Association. It provides information on events and changes in the institution; news about Stout faculty and administration; news about Stout alumni; and the organization, history, and news of the Stout Alumni Association. Although an Alumni Association was first organized at Stout in 1917, the publication of the first newsletter appears to have begun following the re-organization of the Association in 1925 with the first newsletter, The Stout Institute Alumnus, appearing in March of 1926. During the 1930s - 1940s, alumni news was contained in the student newspaper, The Stoutonia. During the 1950s and early 1960s, The Stout Alumni Newsletter was printed, and it appears to have been issued somewhat erratically. The present alumni bulletin, The Stout Alumnus, was first issued in the winter of 1966 and continued as a regular quarterly publication until 1988, when it was replaced by The Outlook. The Summer 1986 issue was never published.
