Construyendo y reafirmando lealtades : actores y estructura política en el Caribe colombiano durante la regeneración, 1886-19031.

The main objective of this article is to analyze the main characteristics of the political project of Regeneration in Colombia, but particularly in its Caribbean region, between 1886-1903. Inscribed from the perspective of regional history and the “new” political history, these lines show that the Spanish-Catholic republic in the Colombian Caribbean had a strong connection with the tutelary principles that, from the center of the country, were reproduced to give it life and ideological support to this state regime, but also a political structure was built in the form of federations, akin to Regeneration in this part of the national territory. We conclude that said political project was “national” but also local and regional, where the Colombian Caribbean coast played a central role.El presente artículo tiene como objetivo central analizar las principales características del proyecto político de la Regeneración en Colombia, pero particularmente en su región Caribe, entre 1886-1903. Inscrito desde la perspectiva de historia regional y de la “nueva” historia política, estas líneas muestran que la república hispano-católica en el Caribe colombiano, tuvo una fuerte vinculación con los principios tutelares que desde el centro del país, se reprodujeron para darle vida y soporte ideológico a este régimen estatal, pero además, se construyó una estructura política en formas de federaciones, afín a la Regeneración en esta parte del territorio nacional. Concluimos que dicho proyecto político, fue “nacional” pero también local y regional, donde la costa Caribe colombiana tuvo un protagonismo central
