From the borderland between two culturesThe Funnel Beaker culture and the Single Grave culture in central eastern Jutland Eighty years ago, J. Brøndsted and especially P.V. Glob painted colourful pictures of invading “axe-swinging” nomads from the south who conquered the central and western parts of Jutland. The Jutland Single Grave culture (SGC) was indeed different from the established Funnel Beaker culture (FBC) in southern Scandinavia and part of its background obviously lay in central Europe.
